Backup & Disaster Recovery

Automated Backups · Disaster Recovery · Verified Restores

Automated backups, tested recovery, RTO/RPO planning, and offsite cloud storage. Most businesses discover their backup doesn't work when they need it — we test yours.

Why Backup & Disaster Recovery through us

  • Acronis and Veeam certified implementation
  • Daily automated backups with verified restore testing
  • RTO and RPO defined before we start, not after an incident
  • Off-site and cloud backup, data survives a site disaster
  • Monthly backup health reports included

The challenges we solve

What's getting in the way for most businesses.

If any of these sound familiar, your environment has gaps worth addressing, and Sentire can help you close them.

Backups that fail are discovered during recovery

Most businesses learn their backups don't actually work in the middle of a real incident, when restoring quickly is the only thing that matters.

Ransomware reaches connected backups

Backup destinations connected to the same network are encrypted alongside live data. Off-site and immutable copies are the only real protection.

Recovery objectives are never tested

Every business assumes recovery is achievable. Most have never measured how long it actually takes against the RTO their business can survive.

Microsoft 365 data isn't fully backed up

Microsoft protects infrastructure availability, not your data. Email, SharePoint, and Teams content can be permanently lost without a third-party backup.

Backup

On-Premise and Cloud Backup

Automated daily backups of your servers and Microsoft 365 data, stored on-site for fast local restores and replicated to the cloud so a site-level event cannot destroy both your systems and your copies at the same time.

Server Backup

ON-PREMISE

On-premise server backup using Acronis or Veeam. Image-based backup with incremental scheduling and retention policies. Covers Windows Server, Linux, and hypervisors.

  • Image-based and incremental backups
  • Windows Server, Linux, and hypervisor support
  • Flexible retention and scheduling policies

Cloud Backup

CLOUD

Off-site backup to Azure or Acronis Cloud. Ensures data survives a site disaster. Also covers Microsoft 365 which Microsoft does NOT back up natively.

  • Azure and Acronis Cloud backup
  • Microsoft 365 email and file backup
  • Geo-redundant storage across regions

Hyper-V & VMware Backup

VIRTUALISATION

Acronis Cyber Protect backs up Hyper-V and VMware virtual machines at the hypervisor level, agentless, incremental, and replicated off-site for complete VM-level recovery.

  • Agentless Hyper-V and VMware backup at hypervisor level
  • VM-level and granular file recovery from a single backup
  • Incremental backups to minimise storage and network usage

Business Continuity

Business Continuity and Restore Verification

Monthly verified restore tests that prove your data is actually recoverable, not just that backup jobs completed. We run live restores, measure RTO against your target, and report the results so leadership knows continuity is real, not assumed.

Veeam ONE, Backup Monitoring & Analytics

MONITORING

Veeam ONE monitors your Veeam backup infrastructure in real time, detecting job failures, forecasting storage growth, and generating compliance reports before problems become incidents.

  • Real-time backup job monitoring and failure alerting
  • Storage capacity forecasting and trend analysis
  • SLA compliance reporting across all protected workloads

Restore Testing and Verification

BIZ CONTINUITY

Monthly restore tests on every backup job. Documented evidence that backups actually work. Most businesses never test until a real disaster. Sentire tests every month.

  • Monthly restore test for each backup job
  • Test results documented and reported
  • File, VM, and whole-server restore validation

Disaster Recovery

Disaster Recovery Planning

A documented DR plan with defined Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO), built before an incident, not written in a panic during one. Covers failover procedures, communication runbooks, escalation paths, and cloud failover capability.

Disaster Recovery Planning

DR PLANNING

Defining RTO and RPO, documenting recovery procedures, designing failover architecture. A written DR plan that actually works when needed.

  • RTO and RPO definitions aligned to business needs
  • Recovery procedures documented and tested
  • Failover architecture design and implementation

Cloud Restore & Failover

CLOUD FAILOVER

Acronis Cloud Recovery spins up your servers in the Acronis cloud within minutes of an on-premise failure, keeping your business operational while local infrastructure is restored.

  • Servers spin up in Acronis Cloud after an on-premise failure
  • RTO under 4 hours for critical workloads, tested, not estimated
  • Automatic failback when on-premise infrastructure is restored

DR Plan for Kenyan Regulatory Compliance

COMPLIANCE

A tested Disaster Recovery Plan document that meets Kenyan regulatory audit requirements, covering recovery time objectives, recovery point objectives, tested backup procedures, and documented restore time certifications.

  • Written DR Plan document structured for regulatory audit review
  • RTO and RPO defined and documented per system
  • Tested backup procedures with restore time certification

OUR METHODOLOGY

Three steps to verified, monitored data protection.

Recovery Planning

We define your RTO and RPO, how fast you need to recover and how much data loss is acceptable. This drives every design decision that follows.

Deploy & Configure

We deploy Acronis or Veeam, configure backup schedules, and establish off-site and cloud replication. Your first verified restore test happens within 7 days.

Monitor & Report

Every backup job is monitored. Failures alert us before you notice. Monthly reports confirm your data is protected and restores are passing.

FAQ

Common questions about Backup & Disaster Recovery

How often are backups taken?

We implement daily incremental backups with weekly full backups as the minimum standard. For critical systems — databases, ERP, finance — we configure hourly incremental backups to reduce the recovery point objective. Backup frequency is agreed per workload based on how much data loss is acceptable.

How long does it take to restore from a backup?

File and folder restores are typically completed in minutes. Full server restores from local backup take one to four hours depending on data volume. Restores from cloud backup take longer for large datasets, which is why we recommend local plus offsite backup for anything with a tight recovery time requirement. We test restores quarterly and document actual restore times for your environment.

What is the difference between backup and disaster recovery?

Backup is the copy of your data. Disaster recovery is the plan and infrastructure that gets you operational when everything fails — including the server, the building, or the ISP. A full DR solution includes documented recovery procedures, a tested failover environment, defined recovery time objectives, and regular drills. Most businesses need both.

Where are backups stored?

We implement a 3-2-1 backup strategy: three copies of data, on two different media types, with one copy offsite. For most clients this means local backup on a NAS or backup server, plus offsite replication to Azure or Acronis Cloud. Offsite backups are encrypted in transit and at rest.

What happens if the backup hardware is destroyed or stolen?

The offsite copy is specifically designed for this scenario. If local hardware is lost in a fire, theft, or flood, data is recovered from the cloud backup. For servers, recovery to cloud virtual machines is available as a failover option, meaning you can be operational from any location while replacement hardware is procured.

Do you test restores, or just run the backups?

We test restores. A backup that has never been restored is not a backup — it is a liability. We run file-level restore tests monthly and full system restore tests quarterly. Results are documented and included in your monthly IT report. If a restore test fails, we treat it as an incident and resolve it before the next backup cycle.
